Photos: Triple-decker fire in Cambridge
Thomas Hunt, a 57-year-old Cambridge resident was pronounced dead after a 2-alarm blaze ripped through a triple-decker residence on Columbia Street early in the morning on Nov. 13 this year. I got a call a little after 1 am that night that sirens were filling the streets. Blowing through red lights, I caught up with the bulk of cars crowding the intersection. Neighbors lined the streets, their faces tense as firefighters periodically emerged from the wall of smoke streaming out of charred windows. Roughly an hour later, Assistant Fire Chief Gerry Mahoney confirmed Hunt died in the fire, which they now believed began in his third-floor living room. These photos were originally published in the Cambridge Chronicle.
