Happy Birthday Occupy Boston

Today marked the one year anniversary of the Occupy movement in Boston. Even though it was pouring all morning, the rain stopped just before noon when the demonstration in front of the State House got underway. I was surprised to see that not too many people came out though, especially considering that the Occupy group in Boston is reportedly better organized than most. Needless to say, the day wasn’t anything compared to the mass arrests in New York. When we left at around 4:30, the crowd in Dewey Square was milling around rather benignly and by the time I got done filing the pictures, which were shot for the Boston Metro, around 6:30, it looked like everyone had pretty much dispersed. Turnout notwithstanding, it was good to see there were still some die-hards that turned out.
