Late night basketball at the Boys and Girls Club
At 9 p.m. on a recent Friday night, area teenagers trickle into the Boys and Girls Club on Windsor Street, gravitating mostly to a wooden bleacher facing the gymnasium.
Two boys take turns shooting hoops. A group of three girls banter in the corner, their voices rising in crescendos of laughter before falling into hushed whispers of gossip. By 10 p.m., the gym is buzzing with people coming and going, joking with the staff members, and moving in and out of the gymnasium.
It’s June 15 and the first night of the late-night basketball program or “teen night” at the Boys and Girls Club. Read the full version published in the Cambridge Chronicle.
